Key findings
- Higher EEG amplitudes in many bands in autistic children
- SMR and beta amplitude classified the groups with 95.2% accuracy
- Measures were consistent over three months
A single-channel QEEG study comparing 17 autistic children with 105 typically developing children, with repeat recordings three months later. Autistic children showed higher amplitudes across many frequency bands and less stable activity within a session; sensorimotor rhythm and beta amplitude together identified them with about 95% accuracy.
