Key findings
- Driving errors about doubled during iPod use
- EEG theta rose during iPod use
Participants drove a simulator while searching for songs on an iPod, with driving errors and EEG theta recorded before, during and after iPod use. Driving errors roughly doubled and theta activity rose while the iPod was in use, pointing to a real distraction effect.
