- Protocol
- Source-localized infraslow neurofeedback (posterior cingulate)
- Sessions
- 6 over 3 weeks
Key findings
- Food craving decreased compared with baseline and placebo
- Infraslow activity in the posterior cingulate increased
- No adverse effects reported
A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in obese women with food-addiction symptoms of infraslow neurofeedback targeting the posterior cingulate cortex, a region involved in craving. After six sessions, infraslow activity in that region rose and food craving fell compared with placebo, with no adverse effects.
