Protocol
QEEG activation-guided biofeedback for memory

Key findings

  • Training targeted the EEG measure linked to good recall
  • Memory gains of 68–181% after brain injury

QEEG was recorded from 59 healthy right-handed people during two listening-memory tasks to find which EEG measures went with good recall. Five people, including two with brain injury and one after hippocampal surgery, then trained the specific measure on which they fell short. Memory improved in all, and by 68% to 181% in the brain-injured patients, more than time since injury would explain.
