Key findings

  • Attention improved and impulsivity fell after three sessions

Thirty-six boys rated hyperactive by their teachers were randomly assigned to three sessions of relaxation training with biofeedback or to a control group. The trained boys improved their attention to task and became less impulsive, and the difference held after allowing for age, teacher ratings and starting scores.
