- 34 (16 + 18)
Key findings
- Mood improved as alpha increased
- Alpha gains went with shifts in autonomic balance
A 37-year-old man treated for depression with medication for over a year received two inpatient courses of light stimulation driven by his own alpha rhythm. His mood improved and his alpha increased, along with changes in heart-rate control and skin conductance, and the size of the alpha increase tracked his mood improvement.
