Parts I & II — surface and sLORETA Z-score training, beginner to advanced

$795 · both parts (4 days) · single part $478
Registration details coming soon

Before registering, please read our refund, transfer and cancellation policies.

This workshop is meant to equip all users to utilize BrainMaster’s patented Live Z-Score training (PZOK) with the baseline skills needed to begin working with their software and equipment immediately.

Part I is intended for beginner and intermediate users and focuses on the clinical principles of Z-score training and using 4- to 19-channel surface training. Part II is intended for intermediate and advanced users and focuses on the differences between neurofeedback methods and on sLORETA Z-score training and surface + sLORETA combination protocols.

Who is this workshop for?

Part I is intended for beginner and intermediate users. Part II is intended for intermediate and advanced users. Taken together, the full intensive equips any user of BrainMaster’s Live Z-Score training (PZOK) with the baseline skills to begin working with their software and equipment immediately.

Itinerary

Day 1 Part I — clinical principles of Z-score training, 4 to 19 channel surface training

  • 9:00 – 10:30Review of the history and functional principles of PZOK training; clarification of the elements unique to PZOK and why it fundamentally differs from other approaches to live Z-score neurofeedback
  • 10:45 – 12:30Introduction to surface Z-score protocols, 4 to 19 channels
  • 12:30 – 1:30Lunch
  • 1:30 – 3:00Overview of evaluation and assessment options for up to 19-channel surface PZOK; clinical considerations when selecting between protocols
  • 3:15 – 6:00Practicum (2 contact hours BCIA)

Day 2 Part I — introductory skills for neurofeedback providers, 4 through 19 channel training

  • 9:00 – 10:30Overview of the 10-20 system; effective placement of EEG sensors for 4 or more channels; initial set-up and review of client folders in BrainAvatar 4.0
  • 10:45 – 11:15Principles behind the PZOK training approach; set-up and administration of an introductory PZOK and PZOKUL protocol
  • 11:15 – 12:30Practicum: attendees practice setting up and running brief training sessions on each other under supervision
  • 12:30 – 1:30Lunch
  • 1:30 – 3:00Adjusting training thresholds; selecting and adjusting feedback options; clinical assessment options and protocol design for PZOK training on a 4-channel Atlantis versus a 19-channel Discovery amplifier
  • 3:15 – 6:00Practicum: setting up and running brief training sessions under supervision (2 contact hours BCIA)

Day 3 Part II — introduction to sLORETA Z-score training

  • 9:00 – 10:30Differences between the various neurofeedback methods and the clinical implications of each approach
  • 10:45 – 12:30Review of support resources for protocol selection and design
  • 12:30 – 1:30Lunch
  • 1:30 – 3:00Introduction and review of template sLORETA Z-score neurofeedback protocol design
  • 3:15 – 6:00Practicum: learning how to customize an sLORETA Z-score protocol

Day 4 Part II — using QEEG to customize protocol designs

  • 9:00 – 10:30Analyzing QEEG maps from a clinical perspective
  • 10:45 – 12:30Commonly used terms and metrics in QEEG; review of available reference materials and tools for QEEG analysis and protocol design
  • 12:30 – 1:30Lunch
  • 1:30 – 3:00Protocol design combining sLORETA and surface Z-score training at the same time
  • 3:15 – 6:00Practicum: customizing protocol designs based on both clinical and EEG assessment data
