Practical Neurofeedback
From overwhelmed to intermediate user of your own equipment, in three days
Before registering, please read our refund, transfer and cancellation policies.
Neurofeedback hardware and software can seem incredibly daunting and complicated. Whether you are just getting started or looking to expand your skills, learning the possibilities of your equipment is essential. This live, in-person, hands-on workshop will teach you the ins and outs of your equipment and ensure you leave an intermediate user.
In this three-day program we review basic concepts of frequency bands and function, and relate symptoms to acquired QEEG analysis. To make QEEG analysis a tool we can use, we work with the QEEGPro analysis program: collect good data, upload to QEEGPro, and download workable results. We then develop comfort with amplitude training (traditional neurofeedback) by running several protocols in that genre, migrate to Z-score neurofeedback and practise with that modality, and finally examine the power of sLORETA Z-score training — a contemporary modality many clinicians are finding exciting and powerful.
Who is this workshop for?
- This beginner post-doctoral level course is for Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Social Workers, MFTs, Counselors, Substance Abuse Counselors, Nurses, Dentists, Chiropractors, technicians under licensed supervision, and other health care professionals accepted by BCIA.
- Certain workshops may require prerequisite training/licensure. Call STS for further information.
- Medical doctors are welcome to attend all STS workshops. CMEs are not guaranteed.
Educational objectives
- Define the clinical functions and characteristics of specific frequency bands in the context of neurofeedback training.
- Relate client symptoms to objective patterns identified through acquired QEEG analysis.
- Execute proper EEG data collection techniques to ensure high-quality signals suitable for QEEG-level analysis and reduce “noise” and errors.
- Operate BrainAvatar efficiently and QEEGPro Analysis Program to upload raw data and generate workable analysis results.
- Design amplitude training (traditional NFB) protocols based on individual QEEG results and clinical acumen.
- Implement multiple traditional amplitude training protocols to build technical comfort with neurofeedback instrumentation.
- Apply Z-Score neurofeedback modalities in a practice setting to address client dysregulation.
- Evaluate the clinical utility and power of sLORETA Z-Score training for targeting deep cortical structures.
- Differentiate between traditional amplitude training, surface Z-Score, and sLORETA Z-Score neurofeedback.
- Formulate a structured plan to transition from data acquisition to protocol implementation in a professional office environment.

Important notices
21 APA CE hours, plus up to 7 BCIA certification / re-certification neurofeedback mentoring hours.
No commercial support. StressTherapy Solutions, Inc. chooses BrainMaster Technologies as our preferred hardware and software, because their amplifiers are Class IIA medical devices, FDA certified, and provide unmatched flexibility for neurofeedback. BrainMaster equipment is not required for this workshop.
All times listed are subject to change.
What to bring
You must bring your own equipment. BrainMaster hardware is preferred but is not required — the workshop is built around whatever equipment you actually use in clinic.
