Key findings

  • Red room: higher pulse, SpO2 and cortisol
  • Different high-beta patterns in the two rooms
  • Sex hormones and melatonin did not change clearly

A small study of how red and blue rooms affect women's brain activity, heart measures, mood and hormones. The red room raised pulse, oxygen saturation, cortisol and tension-related moods and increased high-beta activity at the back of the head; the blue room was linked with depression and fatigue moods and frontal high beta.
