Chiarenza is the  Founder and President of the International Center of learning, attention and hyperactivity disorders, 2003-2011, Director of the Department of Mental Health and Infancy Neuropsychiatry, Az. Osp. “G. Salvini”, Garbagnate Milanese, Milano; 2000-2011 Professor, Catholic University, Piacenza; 1993-2011 Director of Infancy Neuropsychiatry and Director of the Operative Unit of Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatry, Rho Hospital; 1974-1993 senior researcher at the Institute of Infancy Neuropsychiatry, University of Milan.

Fields of interest: Developmental neuropsychology and neurophysiology in normal conditions and in learning disabilities, particularly dyslexia and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Analysis of electrical brain responses (electroencephalography – EEG and event-related potentials – ERPs) in combination with neuropsychological tasks for the investigation of brain cognitive processes.

Editorial functions: 1993-2011 Member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Psychophysiology.

Social positions 2010-until today President of the International Organization of Psychophysiology.

Over 260 papers and book chapters in national and international peer-reviewed journals.

Member of several national and international scientific societies.

He has been Chairman of the 9th World Congress of the International Organization of Psychophysiology, held in Taormina, Italy – Sept. 1998 and of the 16th World Congress of the International Organization of Psychophysiology, held in Pisa, Italy – Sept. 2012.
