Dr. Lisa Black, founder Center for Optimal Brain Performance, is a Licensed Psychologist and Board Certified in Neurofeedback and Quantitative EEG. She has been engaged in the practice and teaching of neurofeedback and brainmapping since 1999 and in the independent practice of psychology in Norman, OK since 2007.
Dr. Black’s clinical experience spans a broad range of symptoms from severe dysfunction to non-optimal function, including: Autistic Spectrum, ADD and hyperactivity, LD, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, chronic pain, PTSD, depression, anxiety, OCD, developmental delays and disorders, addictions, incontinence and many other symptoms that affect well-being.
Dr. Black has lectured and/or written about neurofeedback and quantitative EEG brainmapping on topics related to patterns seen in childhood trauma, IQ prediction from neurophysiological data, treatment effects with bipolar disorder, and practice standards.
Dr. Black holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas (class of 1994, summa cum laude, focused research in neural network modeling and attachment), a Master’s in Psychology (emphasis in neuropsychology) from the University of North Texas, and a PhD in Counseling Psychology (specialty focus in Behavioral Medicine) from the University of North Texas.
